30) Gareth Barry (Everton)

Signed from Manchester City on a free, veteran midfielder Gareth Barry has started to show his age for Everton in this disappointing season for the Toffees.

29) Edin Dzeko (Manchester City)

Just four goals all season long for Edin Dzeko after the highs of last season, there’s no doubt the Bosnian has looked significantly worse this time around.

28) Remy Cabella (Newcastle United)

A hyped up summer signing who has failed to make any impact, Remy Cabella has not looked a worthwhile buy for Newcastle.

27) Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal)

Dropped by Arsenal after a series of clangers, Wojciech Szczesny has had a poor season for the Gunners and is now surely out of the first-team picture.

26) Shane Long (Southampton)

Signed for around £12m, Shane Long has not done anything of note for Southampton, showing just how average and overrated he is at this level.

25) Charles N’Zogbia (Aston Villa)

A player once regarded as a top talent, it has been yet another anonymous season for Aston Villa winger Charles N’Zogbia.

24) Fernando (Manchester City)

A summer signing to fill a gap in midfield, Fernando has been massively disappointing for Manchester City and doesn’t look cut out for this level.

23) Brown Ideye (West Bromwich Albion)

Another failed summer purchase, Brown Ideye has not delivered for West Bromwich Albion despite his reputation prior to joining.

22) Fabio Borini (Liverpool)

Somehow still at Liverpool, Fabio Borini has shown he is not good enough for a club of this size with his performances this term.

21) Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Allowed to return to his old club Crystal Palace after flopping at Manchester United, Wilfried Zaha has improved slightly but still has a long way to go to justify the hype.

20) Didier Drogba (Chelsea)

Now 37 years old, Didier Drogba is showing his age as he struggles to look convincing even as third choice striker for Chelsea.

19) Filipe Luis (Chelsea)

A player who has barely featured for Chelsea, Filipe Luis did not look worth the money, with Cesar Azpilicueta still comfortably first choice at left-back.

18) Carlton Cole (West Ham United)

Another player who continues to steal a living at Premier League level, Carlton Cole is somehow still a West Ham player, scoring just two goals all season.

17) Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

A player well past his best, Steven Gerrard has been dropped by Liverpool and they’ve looked much better without him in the team. His red card against Manchester United was one of the stupidest moments of the season.

16) Victor Anichebe (West Bromwich Albion)

A questionable signing that hasn’t paid off, Victor Anichebe has just two goals in 2014/15 and contributes nothing to this Baggies team.

15) Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)

Still making a living off being a bruiser in midfield, Lee Cattermole has been one of Sunderland’s poorer players in their scrap against relegation.

14) Stevan Jovetic (Manchester City)

Five goals all season is not a good enough return for a player of his price tag, with Stevan Jovetic continuing to look an awful buy by Manchester City.

13) Aly Cissokho (Aston Villa)

A player who wasn’t great at Liverpool, Aly Cissokho has looked even worse for Aston Villa in their woeful season.

12) Alan Hutton (Aston Villa)

A player who has been useless for years, Alan Hutton has still managed to get playing time for struggling Aston Villa this season, looking as much of a liability as ever.

11) Rickie Lambert (Liverpool)

A bizarre signing to replace a player of the quality of Luis Suarez, Rickie Lambert has predictably flopped since moving to Anfield.

10) Andros Townsend (Tottenham Hotspur)

Just two goals and two assists in the league this season, it’s fair to say Andros Townsend is not living up to his label of ‘the new Gareth Bale’.

9) Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur)

A big-money signing still failing to deliver, Erik Lamela has had another hugely underwhelming season at White Hart Lane.

8) Eliaquim Mangala (Manchester City)

Signed for £32m last summer, Eliaquim Mangala has looked a massive waste of money for Manchester City after some shocking defensive displays.

7) Tom Cleverley (Aston Villa)

Loaned out by Manchester United, Tom Cleverley has failed to show any potential during his time at Aston Villa.

6) Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)

Just two goals in the Premier League for one of the country’s highest earners, Emmanuel Adebayor has been awful again this year and is surely on his way out of the club.

5) Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur)

One goal all season for a £26m striker, Roberto Soldado has been another embarrassment for Spurs this season, looking totally lost at this level.

4) Radamel Falcao (Manchester United)

One of the biggest signings of the summer, Radamel Falcao has looked surprisingly awful on loan at Manchester United and surely won’t earn a permanent move.

3) Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)

An increasingly error-prone and unreliable defender, Vincent Kompany has been probably City’s worst player this season.

2) Dejan Lovren (Liverpool)

A £20m signing that went horribly wrong, Dejan Lovren has totally failed to make the step up from Southampton to Liverpool.

1) Mario Balotelli (Liverpool)

Just one league goal and plenty of controversy off the pitch, Mario Balotelli has been worse than could have been expected for Liverpool even if he was a risky signing.

No debería estar ahí.
